Congo African Grey (Psittacus erithacus)

The Congo African Grey, originates from Africa, (Congo and Zaire). The Congo is the most popular of the African Grey sub-species because of the coloring and extraordinary talking ability.  The feathers are shades of Grey, a mask of white skin around the eye, with a beautiful crimson tail.  Congos are generally quiet except for whistling and talking and not prone to screaming.  Greys can acquire an extensive vocabulary, and have been subjects of research

on animal behavior and intelligence. Greys have a wonderful temperament, very sweet, and independent, though they are not great “cuddlers.”  Because of the long life span, you may have a lifetime of intelligent interaction with your new Grey friend who will come to know you by name!
